The Matt Gardner Homestead Museum provides wonderful learning
opportunities for adults and children of all ages. Visitors can step
back in time by touring the home and walking the grounds. Learn about
the farmstead's history, architecture, and owner. Examine religious
life and experiences. Visitors will see unique handmade quilts and
early 19th-century toys at the museum. See how pop corn was popped at
the Gardner house in the early 19th century. Don't forget to explore
the grounds too, see the well house, chicken coop, and smokehouse as
well as the garden.
School groups are especically welcome at the museum. Please call to
schedule a visit after October 1, 2009.
Guided tours will be available once we are open.

visit for heritage education.
Historical residences are one of the best teaching resources for local,
state, and national history and culture.
